Arrival at Caracas, overnight stay in Caracas
Day 1:
Circular Tour
Flight Caracas/Maturin or Caracas/Ciudad Gujana. Transportation
by car or
van to Boca de Urucoa, from there to the main camp El Guamal by
boat. Lunch,
relaxing, swimming, a ride in the afternoon: fishing for piranhas,
watching
wildlife. After sunset back to the camp.
In the evening jungle bar. Overnight stay in small, luxurious huts
in beds.
Day 2:
Breakfast, after that continuing of our journey to the outer camp
by boat.
On the way watching wildlife. Lunch in the outer camp. In the afternoon
a
trip to visit the Warao Indians. On the way back we go fishing (Tarbun).
Dinner. Night trip by canoe (watching caimans), overnight stay in
hammocks.
Day 3:
Breakfast, after that a ride by canoe and a walk in the jungle.
Lunch on the
way. Visit of an Indian camp, a walk in the mangroves. Dinner at
the camp,
overnight stay in hammocks.
Day 4:
Breakfast, driving back to the main camp. Lunch. Leaving by boat
to Boca de
Urucoa against 3 pm. From there we continue our journey to San Felix.
Further travelling to the brasilian border to Santa Helena de Guairen
by
night bus.
Day 5:
Arrival at Santa Helena de Guairen, then to a camp, recovering,
lunch. Day
trip to the Kaine waterfall with the possibility to go swimming.
Heading
back to the camp by sunset.
Day 6:
Breakfast, departure to the Roraima Trekking, driving through the
savannah
by jeep to Paratepui. Here starts our three-day-ascent. Every day
we will
wander uphill for 5 hours to reach the peak.
Day 7:
We continue our ascent crossing shallow river beds and wandering
on narrow
mountain paths. At midday we rest on the road. There are a proper
meal and a
load of refreshing drinks. After that we slow down and relax in
the
afternoon.
Day 8:
After setting up early we reach the peak in the morning. Here, at
first we
recover from the efforts of the ascent, spending the night in a
small camp.
The rest of the day we spend exploring the nature on the mountain
top.
Day 9:
Today, we explore our surrounding with our guide. There are rare
crystals
and mystical-looking rock formations. From an outstanding plateau
we have a
wonderful view to Brasilia, Guayana and, of course, Venezuela.
Day 10:
We leave the camp starting in descent to the base camp.
Day 11:
After a last breakfast at the Tepui we leave the base camp and march
back to
the Paratepui. From there we do a jeep safari back to Santa Helena,
passing
two waterfalls if we have got the time to. Dinner and overnight
stay in a
camp.
Day 12:
Breakfast, departure to the airport of Santa Helena during which
we do an
excursion across the brasilian border to La Lina. From Santa Helena
we fly
to Canaima. We fly above the Angel Fall, land in Canaima, going
there on a 3
to 4-hour-trip by boat. Passing several waterfalls we cross the
Canaima-lagoon. From there we wander to the Frog Fall which we pass
by
getting behind its falling waters. Back in Canaima it is lunchtime.
From
there we go by plane to Ciudad Guyana.
Return flight to Caracas or, if arranged so, to another city in
Venezuela.
